VP of Data Integration and Technology Strategy for a Healthcare Logistics Organization

Objective

A non-emergency medical transportation/Logistics company in Atlanta GA was seeking a VP of Data Integration and Technology Strategy to lead all data integration and business intelligence strategy for their entire organizations. For this particular role this individual would need to have the technical acumen to architect the overall planning, management and execution of all data integrations with external stakeholders. This position would establish the Business Intelligence tool sets and ensure appropriate data/analytics would be available for all corporate reporting.  This position would also coordinate the consolidated Information Technology Architecture Strategy and Technology Roadmap between the various IT functional architects.

“In addition to the qualifications on the job description, culturally, the right person for the role would need to have the professional maturity, confidence, and humility to lead a team of technical professionals and work with our clients and insurance providers.  I also needed someone that took initiative and owned the work.  Logisticare is in a high growth mode so I needed someone that I could trust to get the job done.  I knew from experience that Jim and his team would vet both the tangible and intangibles of the position.” – Ed Ringer (Chief Information Officer)

Process

At the onset of the search Jim Montembeau (President of Midpoint Search) met with Logisticare’s CIO to analyze both the tangible and intangible requirements of the positon.  The following day Jim provided Ed with a summary qualification table requesting a weight percentage to be assigned to each qualification.  These qualifications would be used to score each candidate.  A self-score would be done by the candidate and two interview scores would be done by two separate Midpoint interviewers.  This would be done for each candidate.  The candidates with the top 5 scores would be presented to Logisticare using a summary and bar graph illustrating the candidate’s scores. This process took 2 ½ weeks.

Results

Ed and his team interviewed all 5 candidates and narrowed the slate down to two.  After both candidates were interviewed by the executive team at Logisticare, Ed selected the one that fit best and subsequently hired him.

Testimonial

I cannot speak highly enough of Midpoint, their professionalism, and of course the results.  The process was easy  very fast, and efficient.  The graphical presentation of the candidates was a welcomed change from what other search firms present.  Midpoint’s presentation really helped us focus on what was truly important in this search.  They guys REALLY know what they are doing.” Ed Ringer (CIO)
