Objective

Sto is an innovative world leader and producer of a broad range of versatile building envelope solutions and coating systems for building construction, maintenance and restoration.  Due to changes in the organization STO was positioned to make a change in Sr. Management in their main plant.   The challenge was to not only find an experienced Senior Plant Manager but also find someone that could change the cultural foundation of the plant without disrupting operations.  In addition, the Senior Plant Manager would need to implement new process and procedural changes to increase operational efficiencies and do so with the respect of the hourly employees.

Process

Marty contacted Midpoint because of their reputation of not only finding great talent but also their ability to provide business and market guidance.  “I didn’t need a stack of resumes.  I needed honest advice and assessment of candidates.  I needed a firm that understood leadership and would not be afraid to tell me what we needed based on the input we provided.  Above all, I needed this done in an expeditious manner.”  Jim Montembeau (President of Midpoint) met with Marty to assess the requirements of the position, the culture of the plant, and other intangibles needed for the role.  Midpoint began immediately by identifying target companies, with potential suitable talent.  A wide net was cast with many candidates screened and interviewed.  Within a couple of weeks, the result was a slate of candidates presented to STO.

Results
